Old mattresses are one of the most awkward items to get rid of. They're heavy, floppy, and won't fit in your car. In Poole, whether you're in Parkstone, Branksome and Canford Cliffs, mattress removal is one of our most popular services. With detached and semi-detached family home common here, there's often a narrow staircase or tight hallway between the bedroom and the front door. We handle the manoeuvring — you just show us which mattress needs to go. Established family area with high owner-occupancy. Canford Cliffs and Sandbanks attract higher-value clearances. Hamworthy and Oakdale have more modest housing stock. That means we're regularly collecting mattresses from property upgrades, rental turnovers, and downsizers alike. Add a bed frame for £25 if the whole lot needs to go.
While the van's there: add a bed frame (£35), a second mattress (£50), or bags of rubbish (£12/bag)
Better value
Your mattress + call-out = £89 total. A half load is £179 — just £90 more to clear the whole bedroom.
BCP Council includes mattresses in their bulky waste scheme at £37.50 for up to 3 items. The catch? 2–3 weeks wait, and you need to get it to the kerbside yourself. Items must be left at the kerbside by 6:30am on collection day. No access to the property. Online booking only. Try getting a king-size mattress through a narrow hallway and out the front door on your own.

Nuffield Recycling Centre (2.1 miles from Poole) accepts mattresses, but getting one there is the challenge. You'll need to strap it to a roof rack or use a van — and most recycling centres won't let you dump a mattress in general waste; there's a specific bay you need to carry it to. Vans and trailers require a free permit — apply online at least 5 working days ahead. For most people, a doorstep collection is easier and worth the cost.
Generally good access. Some Sandbanks and Canford Cliffs properties have gated driveways. Hamworthy has some narrow lanes near the quay. For mattress removal, please strip the bedding before we arrive. If the mattress is going from an upstairs room, let us know when booking so we can plan accordingly — ground floor is included in the price, upstairs may cost a little extra.
