Frequently asked questions

What goes in the black bin BCP?

Non-recyclable household waste: nappies, polystyrene, broken crockery, cat litter, cling film, vacuum cleaner contents, and anything too contaminated to recycle.

Can pizza boxes go in the green bin?

Only if they're clean. Greasy pizza boxes are contaminated and should go in the black bin. Tear off any clean parts and recycle those separately.

Where do textiles go BCP?

Not in any bin. Donate to charity shops, use textile banks at supermarkets, or take to a recycling centre. Good-condition clothing can also be sold online.

What about batteries?

Not in any bin. Most supermarkets have battery collection points. You can also take them to any BCP recycling centre.
