Old TVs — especially heavy CRTs and large flat-screens — are classified as WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment) and need specialist recycling. You can't put them in your normal bins. In Weymouth, from Radipole, Wyke Regis and Preston, we collect TVs and monitors of any type and size from your home. CRT, LCD, LED, plasma — they all contain materials that need proper handling. Victorian terraces near the seafront and modern estates inland properties in the area mean wall-mounted TVs, entertainment setups, and old screens stored in garages are all common finds during clear-outs. Seaside town with a tourist economy. Mix of retirees, families, and seasonal workers. High proportion of rental properties near the harbour.

Dorset Council includes TVs in their bulky waste service at £30 for 1 item, £10 per additional item (max 6). You'll wait up to 4 weeks and need to leave it at the kerbside. For large flat-screens this is manageable, but old CRT TVs are extremely heavy for their size. TipRun collects from inside your home.

Dorchester Recycling Centre (7.5 miles from Weymouth) has a WEEE bay for electronics. TVs are accepted, but larger screens can be awkward to transport in a car. Old CRT TVs are particularly heavy — a 32-inch CRT weighs around 40kg. Dorset address proof required. If you've got a TV plus other items to clear, a TipRun collection makes more sense than multiple tip trips.
Victorian terraces near the seafront have narrow stairways and limited front access. Modern estates in Chickerell and Littlemoor have good access. For TV disposal, please unplug the TV and remove any wall brackets if wall-mounted (we collect the TV, not the bracket). Remotes, cables, and small accessories can go with the TV at no extra charge. Seafront and town centre have pay-and-display and resident permits. Residential areas mostly free. Summer parking can be very limited.

TV stands count as furniture removal (from £50). Book both together and we'll give you a better rate than booking separately. Small stands often go for free if there's room in the van.
