Old TVs — especially heavy CRTs and large flat-screens — are classified as WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment) and need specialist recycling. You can't put them in your normal bins. In Bridport, from West Bay, Bradpole and Bothenhampton, we collect TVs and monitors of any type and size from your home. Dorset Council includes TVs in their bulky waste service at £30 for 1 item, £10 per additional item (max 6). You'll wait up to 4 weeks and need to leave it at the kerbside. For large flat-screens this is manageable, but old CRT TVs are extremely heavy for their size. TipRun collects from inside your home.

Bridport Recycling Centre (0.5 miles from Bridport) has a WEEE bay for electronics. TVs are accepted, but larger screens can be awkward to transport in a car. Old CRT TVs are particularly heavy — a 32-inch CRT weighs around 40kg. Dorset address proof. If you've got a TV plus other items to clear, a TipRun collection makes more sense than multiple tip trips.
Narrow streets in the town centre and older parts. West Bay has steep hills. Newer parts of Bridport have standard access. For TV disposal, please unplug the TV and remove any wall brackets if wall-mounted (we collect the TV, not the bracket). Remotes, cables, and small accessories can go with the TV at no extra charge. Town centre has car parks. Residential areas have on-street or small driveways. West Bay has seasonal parking restrictions.
