Old TVs — especially heavy CRTs and large flat-screens — are classified as WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment) and need specialist recycling. You can't put them in your normal bins. In Bournemouth, from Boscombe, Winton and Charminster, we collect TVs and monitors of any type and size from your home. CRT, LCD, LED, plasma — they all contain materials that need proper handling. Edwardian and Victorian semi-detached properties in the area mean wall-mounted TVs, entertainment setups, and old screens stored in garages are all common finds during clear-outs. Mix of students near the university and retirees along the East Cliff and Southbourne. High turnover rental market in Boscombe and Winton.
While we're there: add the TV stand (£35), a small appliance (£45), or bags of rubbish (£12/bag)

Your TV + call-out = £79 total. A half load is £179 — just £100 more to clear the whole room.
BCP Council includes TVs in their bulky waste service at £37.50 for up to 3 items. You'll wait 2–3 weeks and need to leave it at the kerbside. For large flat-screens this is manageable, but old CRT TVs are extremely heavy for their size. TipRun collects from inside your home.

Millhams Recycling Centre (3.2 miles from Bournemouth) has a WEEE bay for electronics. TVs are accepted, but larger screens can be awkward to transport in a car. Old CRT TVs are particularly heavy — a 32-inch CRT weighs around 40kg. Van/trailer permit required (free, apply online). If you've got a TV plus other items to clear, a TipRun collection makes more sense than multiple tip trips.
Lots of flats above shops on Old Christchurch Road and in Boscombe. Many converted Victorian houses with narrow stairwells. Westbourne properties often have rear lane access. For TV disposal, please unplug the TV and remove any wall brackets if wall-mounted (we collect the TV, not the bracket). Remotes, cables, and small accessories can go with the TV at no extra charge. Resident permit zones across BH1–BH3 and parts of Winton. Pay-and-display near the town centre. Most suburban streets have free on-street parking.
“Booked online at 9am, sofa was gone by lunch. Brilliant service.”
