Getting rid of an old sofa in Christchurch shouldn't mean wrestling it down the stairs and hiring a van. Millhams Recycling Centre is 1.5 miles from central Christchurch. You can take a sofa there, but you'll need a van or trailer — and that means applying for a free permit at least 5 working days in advance. Saturday mornings are the busiest time, so expect queues. Van/trailer permit required (free, apply online). Most people find it easier to book a TipRun collection — we pick up from your door and save you the trip.
Many bungalows with single-level access. Some Highcliffe properties have steep driveways. Mudeford Quay area has narrow access roads. For sofa removal specifically, please make sure we can get the sofa through your front door or have it outside ready. If the sofa came in through the door, it'll come out the same way. Free parking on most residential streets. Town centre has pay-and-display. Highcliffe and Mudeford can be tight in summer.
