Dorchester Recycling Centre (1.0 mile from Dorchester) accepts mattresses, but getting one there is the challenge. You'll need to strap it to a roof rack or use a van — and most recycling centres won't let you dump a mattress in general waste; there's a specific bay you need to carry it to. Dorset address proof required. For most people, a doorstep collection is easier and worth the cost.
Fordington has narrow streets. Poundbury has wide, well-planned access. Town centre properties can be tricky for large items due to narrow doorways. For mattress removal, please strip the bedding before we arrive. If the mattress is going from an upstairs room, let us know when booking so we can plan accordingly — ground floor is included in the price, upstairs may cost a little extra.
