After a bathroom refit, driveway dig-up, or garden wall demolition, you're left with a pile of bricks, concrete, and plaster that's too heavy for your bins and too awkward for your car. In Swanage — whether in Herston, Langton Matravers and Worth Matravers — rubble removal is one of those jobs that needs muscle and a licensed disposal route. stone cottages and Victorian villas properties across the area regularly generate construction waste from renovations and extensions. We collect from your driveway or garden, load the heavy stuff onto our van, and take it to a licensed construction waste facility. Swanage is the most isolated town in TipRun’s area — the nearest recycling centre is 9 miles away in Wareham and there’s only one road in via Corfe Castle.

Council Construction Waste Options vs TipRun in Swanage

Dorset Council doesn't collect rubble through their standard bulky waste service. Construction waste is your responsibility. The tip limits rubble to 3 bags per visit, meaning a kitchen refit could take 5-6 trips. A skip hire company will drop a skip for £200-350 but needs a permit if it's on the road. TipRun is the middle ground — same-day, we load, no skip permit needed.

Taking Rubble to Wareham Recycling Centre

Wareham Recycling Centre (9.0 miles from Swanage) accepts rubble, but limits you to 3 bags per visit. For any serious amount of construction waste, you'll need multiple trips — and rubble is incredibly heavy, so you'll be loading and unloading 25kg bags each time. Plasterboard must go in a separate designated area. Dorset address proof required. We collect the lot in one visit.

Access & Parking in Swanage

Many older properties with narrow doorways and steep steps. The Purbeck Hills mean some properties are on slopes. Access roads can be narrow. For rubble removal, please have the rubble accessible on the driveway or in the front garden. We can't collect from inside the house for loose rubble — bag it in rubble sacks or builder's bags first. Town centre has limited parking. Residential areas have on-street. Summer traffic can cause delays on the A351.

Frequently asked questions

How much rubble can you take in Swanage?

The base price of £99 covers up to around half a tonne. For larger amounts, book a full load or call us for a multi-load quote. We'll give an honest price on site.

Do you take plasterboard in Swanage?

Yes — plasterboard needs specialist disposal (it can't go to standard landfill) but we handle that. No extra charge, it just goes to a different facility.

Is it cheaper than skip hire in Swanage?

Often yes. A mini skip in Swanage costs £200–350 plus a road permit if needed. TipRun starts from £99, we do the loading, and we're gone the same day — no skip sitting on your driveway.

Can you take soil and concrete?

Yes — soil, concrete, bricks, tiles, slates, plaster, and rubble all accepted. Bag heavy items where possible. Contaminated soil (fuel, chemicals) is not accepted.

Do you need access to the driveway?

Ideally yes — we need to park close to the rubble to load efficiently. If there's no driveway, the nearest safe parking spot on-street works. Town centre has limited parking. Residential areas have on-street. Summer traffic can cause delays on the A351.
