Dorset Council doesn't collect rubble through their standard bulky waste service. Construction waste is your responsibility. The tip limits rubble to 3 bags per visit, meaning a kitchen refit could take 5-6 trips. A skip hire company will drop a skip for £200-350 but needs a permit if it's on the road. Wareham Recycling Centre (9.0 miles from Swanage) accepts rubble, but limits you to 3 bags per visit. For any serious amount of construction waste, you'll need multiple trips — and rubble is incredibly heavy, so you'll be loading and unloading 25kg bags each time. Plasterboard must go in a separate designated area. Dorset address proof required. We collect the lot in one visit.
Many older properties with narrow doorways and steep steps. The Purbeck Hills mean some properties are on slopes. Access roads can be narrow. For rubble removal, please have the rubble accessible on the driveway or in the front garden. We can't collect from inside the house for loose rubble — bag it in rubble sacks or builder's bags first. Town centre has limited parking. Residential areas have on-street. Summer traffic can cause delays on the A351.
