Since 23 March 2026 you must book a slot to take DIY waste, up to 4 bookings per household in four weeks. Ordinary household waste and garden waste don't need a booking. DIY waste does.
Hardcore, rubble, soil, plasterboard and flat glass, plus the leftovers of building and decorating jobs.
Up to 100 litres of hardcore, rubble, soil, plasterboard or glass (about four 25 litre bags) free per visit. Extra bags cost £1.50 each. Plasterboard is £2.50 a bag or £10 a sheet.
Dorset Council runs recycling centres at Blandford, Bridport, Dorchester, Portland, Shaftesbury, Sherborne, Swanage, Wareham, Weymouth, Wimborne. Cement-bonded asbestos only, pre-booked, at Blandford, Wareham and Weymouth.
If you have more than a few bags, or no car to carry them, a collection can be simpler. We take rubble, soil and building waste from the drive or the garden. It is priced by weight, so send photos for a price.
